Treasures by the Sea

treasures-by-the-sea

SOBA is hosting Treasures by the Sea this year on Saturday,  4 November 2017, at Stahlman Park in Surfside Beach, TX.  Contact Georgia Pavey at 979-292-9433 for more information.

The fun starts at 10 am and wraps at 5 pm. This year, Billy Mladenka and the Surfside Kite Flyers Club will be on hand to demonstrate their aerial wonders. The Texas Steelpan Orchestra will play from 1:00 to 3:00. Soup and baked goods will be available upstairs in the kitchen area.  You’ll find crafts for children including rock painting, kite making, and creating sand bottles (including shells and trinkets).

The Lone Star Rally in Galveston is the same weekend, and many motorcyclists stop to enjoy our festival.  We have arranged with Barbie Rhodes Dance Studio and Nei Wai Cha Martial Arts for performances.  Goe Harley-Davidson will be sponsoring a scavenger hunt for motorcyclists, and we’ll award prizes at Treasures by the Sea.

We shall showcase hand-built and hand-thrown pottery, mosaics, jewelry (including pieces made with sea glass found at Surfside Beach), handmade soaps, antiques, collectibles, local honey, and much more. Soup, sandwiches, and home-baked goodies are available for when you get hungry.  Leave only your footprints in the sand, take wonderful treasures, and make enchanted memories as you help save the treasures of this special place for future generations.
